Register NowPupils regularly go on to the top Art schools in the UK including Central St Martins, Falmouth, UCL and the London College of Communication – to study fine art, photography, fashion, textiles, sculpture or ceramics and pottery (enhanced by having our own kiln). Led by highly experienced and collaborative teaching staff, pupils are given the freedom and encouragement to follow their artistic passions, whilst also being given the opportunity to experiment and investigate a wide variety of mediums to expand their knowledge.
The art department is set in a wonderful space in the village of Iwerne Minster, originally the village school, which gives the pupils the feeling of working in a true, self-contained art studio, which they relish. Older pupils are able to access the art department relatively freely to complete their projects and there is always a teacher on hand to support and advise.
Photography is also always a popular choice for pupils and we have a dedicated and well equipped photography studio to enable pupils to experiment with their creativity through lighting and filters. Photographers are also tasked and encouraged to use real life settings, portraiture and the outdoors to further their skills.
