LEX

The introduction of LEX is an important milestone in the history of Clayesmore, fundamentally reaffirming our founder’s commitment to a broad and bold vision of education.

Launched in September 2021 and named after the school’s founder, LEX is an exciting new initiative carefully designed to ensure that by the time they leave us, all our students have acquired the skills, knowledge and passions that will enable them to live rich and fulfilling lives. By restructuring our academic programme throughout the working week, we are now able to use Saturdays to provide opportunities across several key ‘pillars’ (The Great Outdoors, Arts, Creativity and Culture, Service and Leadership, Enterprise and Employability and Wellbeing) which will challenge and extend our pupils as well as exposing them to new ways of being, thinking and doing.

This unique and comprehensive personal development programme includes trips, lectures, expeditions and specialist coaching with a view to getting our pupils out of the classroom and preparing them for the challenges and possibilities of the real world! LEX runs every term time Saturday and is compulsory to attend. This consists of core modules encompassing the strands outlined above.
