We welcome parents/agents to make an initial enquiry by contacting our International Admissions team. We are happy to answer any questions, explain the admissions process and to arrange a meeting for you (in person or online).
Visit Clayesmore or meet us online
International families are most welcome to visit Clayesmore, either for one of our Open Days or for a private tour, when we can arrange for you to meet with senior staff, have a tour and experience our vibrant school life in action. However, we understand that many international families are not able to visit us in person, so we can arrange online meetings with senior staff who will help give a good idea of life for our pupils, whether in the Prep or Senior School.
Register
The first formal step in the admissions process is to complete our International Registration Form and pay the £300 registration fee. We will also request your child’s latest school report (translated into English), your child’s passport and birth certificate and also parent passports. At this point we also require any other relevant supporting information/documents. If your child has additional learning needs, please share this with us as early in the process as possible (this is required upon formal registration).
Interview and Assessment
Each child joining Clayesmore is invited to an interview (which can take place online, if needed) and those looking to join Year 6 or above will also be asked to complete English and Maths Assessments. Sixth Form applicants and scholarship candidates may be asked to undertake additional assessments relevant to their chosen subjects. These assessments can also take place online.
Experience Clayesmore
International pupils joining the Prep School are welcome to attend a Taster Day, which can include your child enjoying an overnight stay to experience life at Clayesmore. We understand that this is not possible for many of our international families and is, therefore, not mandatory if you live overseas.
Offer and Acceptance
Following the interview and assessments and assuming we believe Clayesmore is the right school for your child, we will formally offer your child a place. To accept the offer, you will need to complete and sign our acceptance and consent form and pay the deposit.

Visas
Upon enquiry, we will need to know your child’s immigration status. Clayesmore is licensed by the UKVI to enrol international pupils who require a Child Student Visa (CSV). We have strict compliance regulations that we must adhere to for us to maintain this licence. A Compliance Management Fee of £450 plus VAT is, therefore, chargeable if your child needs a CSV to join Clayesmore. Sable International supports us and our international families to navigate the CSV process.
Guardians
All pupils, whose parents are overseas (whether permanently or temporarily) are required by law to have a UK-based Guardian, who can be contacted in an emergency. This is essential for your child’s welfare and safety. As well as being available for emergencies, your child’s guardian will also be required to help with practical arrangements, such as travel to and from Clayesmore, tickets and passports.
