Getting children outside, into the fresh air, is at the core of our ethos at Clayesmore Prep.

We believe children thrive mentally, physically and socially when they have enough time to run and play in nature, no matter what age they are.

We have built a magnificent outdoor classroom by the lake to enable children to learn in a natural environment, we have extended our break times to allow more time for outside play and we are ensuring outdoor education, forest school, bushcraft, sport and LEX increasingly form part of the curriculum.

With the advent of social media, computer gaming and the prevalence of computers in every day life, it has never been more important to help children step away from screens. We want our pupils to enjoy and appreciate the outdoors and the natural environment and this remains central to our teaching and pastoral approach for all our pupils.
