GCSE Results

Clayesmore pupils achieve strong GCSE results, with 41% of grades awarded at 9–7 and 93% at 9–4 in 2026. Our results reflect a commitment to helping pupils make progress from their individual starting points, with teaching that provides both support and academic challenge.

In 2026, pupils achieved an average value-added score of 0.79, meaning they performed better than predicted by national benchmarks based on their baseline assessments. Subject highlights included a 100% pass rate in English Language and 92% in Mathematics, alongside 94% achieving grades 9–6 in Biology, 91% in English Literature and 88% in Physics.

Behind these results is a teaching approach built around knowing each pupil well. Class sizes of no more than 20 allow teachers to understand individual strengths, identify areas for development and provide the right balance of encouragement, support and challenge. The Teaching and Learning Centre also offers specialist support for pupils with additional learning needs, helping them develop the skills and confidence to make progress.

Preparing for What Comes Next

GCSEs are an important milestone, but they are also the beginning of the next stage of a pupil’s journey. At Clayesmore, we help pupils explore their options, recognise their strengths and make informed decisions about their future.

Many of our pupils continue into Clayesmore Sixth Form, where they can choose from a range of A-levels and vocational BTEC qualifications. With pathways including Creative Media Production, Sport, and Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, pupils can select a combination of subjects that reflects their interests, abilities and future aspirations.

Our careers programme helps pupils look beyond their immediate next steps and consider the opportunities available to them. Through careers exploration, guidance on further education and future pathways, and practical preparation such as interview techniques, pupils begin to develop the knowledge and confidence to make decisions about life after school.

Whether they are planning to continue their studies at Clayesmore, explore a vocational pathway or consider other opportunities, we want every pupil to leave the Senior School with a clear sense of direction and the confidence to take their next step.

At Clayesmore, results matter. So does the progress, confidence and ambition that take each pupil forward.
