The Day Experience at Clayesmore
Day pupils are a central part of life at Clayesmore and are fully integrated into our school community. Whether in the Prep or Senior School, day pupils benefit from the same breadth of opportunities, care and sense of belonging as our boarders.
Start of the School Day
Day pupils should arrive at school by 8.25am at the latest. Those arriving earlier than 8.00am are welcome to join us for breakfast in school, providing a relaxed and social start to the day.
The Prep Day Experience
In the Prep School, day pupils spend the entire school day within the Prep setting, making full use of both indoor and outdoor spaces designed for learning, play and exploration. They are fully immersed in the Prep community throughout the day and do not need to access boarding houses during school hours, allowing them to enjoy a seamless and age-appropriate experience of school life.
Senior School Day Experience
In the Senior School, day pupils are fully involved in house life. Pupils start their day at their house before heading off to lessons, co-curricular activities and school events, returning to houses throughout the day to refuel, prepare for sport, complete homework and take part in the wider life of the school. There are also designated study areas within houses for day pupils to use, providing a quiet and supportive space for independent work.
End of the Day
In the Prep School, day pupils can be collected at 4.20pm, or stay for LEX and Prep until 5.00pm.
In the Senior School (Years 9–13), day pupils are usually ready for collection at approximately 5.25pm, following formal commitments and co-curricular activities.
Staying for Supper
All day pupils are very welcome to stay for supper, further strengthening friendships and allowing them to take full part in the wider boarding community.
