Where am I now? Clayesmore gave me the confidence to pursue my creativity. After initially working in finance, I returned to my creative roots, studying Commercial Interior Design at Falmouth University. My final degree project won two industry awards, and I now work in interior design and sustainability with Design Conformity, alongside running my own design practice. This September, I begin an MA at Arts University Bournemouth, exploring sustainable and inclusive design.

Where am I now? Since leaving Clayesmore in 2019, I studied BSc Economics at the University of Exeter, graduating with First Class Honours. During university, I developed a passion for using finance to tackle the climate crisis, including attending a climate change summer school at the University of Bern. I am now an Investment Associate at Finance Earth, a London-based environmental financial adviser and fund manager. I have supported investment readiness for seven nature-based climate projects, representing more than £25 million in opportunities and 10,000 hectares of nature restoration across the UK and Africa. Clayesmore gave me a broad education and the confidence to pursue my ambitions, which has set me up well for life beyond school.

Where am I now? While in the Lower Sixth, I was fortunate to be selected for an Army Scholarship, securing a place at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst. After Clayesmore, I took a gap year travelling through Southeast Asia before deciding not to attend university, I joined Sandhurst. It was challenging but hugely rewarding, and an experience I would thoroughly recommend. At Sandhurst, I was awarded the Sword of Honour, presented to the Officer Cadet considered by the Commandant to be the best in the intake. I was subsequently commissioned into the King’s Royal Hussars.

I trained animals to voluntarily participate in procedures such as transfers and injections, assisted with X-rays and veterinary procedures, and carried out research into areas such as giraffe feeding preferences. I also closely monitored animals involved in international breeding programmes aimed at reversing population declines.
