Our Curriculum
Our Pre-Prep curriculum provides a strong foundation for every child’s educational journey, combining academic excellence with creativity, curiosity and a love of learning.
In Reception, learning follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, where children continue their development through play, exploration and carefully planned experiences. As they move into Years 1 and 2, they begin the Key Stage 1 curriculum, building secure foundations in phonics, reading, writing, mathematics and science. Alongside these core subjects, children explore history, geography, art, design and technology, computing, music, PE and PSHE through engaging, hands-on learning.
We believe children learn best when they are actively involved in their education. Specialist teaching, outdoor learning, Forest School, educational visits and enrichment activities are woven throughout the curriculum, helping pupils make meaningful connections and discover new passions.
Above all, our curriculum is designed to develop confident, curious and compassionate learners. We encourage children to ask questions, solve problems, think independently and work collaboratively, equipping them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to flourish throughout their time at Clayesmore and beyond.
