Year 9 got their LEX Futures programme off to an exciting start with a fun and challenging team-building exercise.
Working in small groups within their houses, pupils were tasked with designing and building a trebuchet capable of launching an egg as far as possible — without breaking it! The challenge required plenty of creativity, problem-solving and, most importantly, teamwork.
The groups had to work together to develop their designs, test their ideas and make adjustments along the way. There was plenty of enthusiasm and friendly competition as the trebuchets took shape and the pupils prepared for the all-important launch.
Gate 2 emerged as the winners, impressing everyone with their successful design and launch. Mr King and Mrs Jones were particularly impressed with the team’s effort and ingenuity.
It was a fantastic way to begin the LEX Futures programme, giving pupils the opportunity to develop valuable skills in collaboration, communication, creativity and problem-solving; all while having plenty of fun!
