Our Head Boy, George, and Head Girl, Leonie, recently represented Clayesmore at the annual Heads of School Conference, hosted by Wells Cathedral School.
Joining student leaders from across the country, they took part in an inspiring day of leadership, learning and collaboration, sharing ideas and exploring how they can make a positive difference within their school communities.
The conference offered a valuable opportunity to develop essential leadership skills through a series of engaging workshops and discussions. George and Leonie explored the importance of effective communication, teamwork and problem-solving, while gaining practical advice on planning and leading meetings, delivering impactful speeches and working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
Just as importantly, the event brought together students with a shared commitment to making a difference. By exchanging experiences and hearing about the initiatives taking place in other schools, George and Leonie gained fresh perspectives and new ideas to bring back to Clayesmore.
Reflecting on the experience, George said: “I thought it was really good to meet other heads of schools, as you could share ideas and get an understanding of what other schools do. I learnt how to plan meetings properly and give effective speeches, as well as working as a team.”
Leonie added: “The Heads of School Conference was a really interesting experience, and it was great to meet students from other schools and hear about their different experiences and ideas. I especially enjoyed sharing our thoughts on leadership and learning how we can make a positive difference to our school.”
The conference was a fantastic opportunity for both students to strengthen their confidence, broaden their understanding of leadership and learn from the experiences of their peers. We look forward to seeing how they put these new skills and ideas into practice as they continue to represent and support the Clayesmore community.
An inspiring day of shared learning, new connections and personal growth, helping to develop the leaders of tomorrow, today.
