Sport Recap w/c 28th September 2026

It has been a busy week of sport this week at Clayesmore. Here is the wrap-up.

Prep Sport

It was a busy week of fixtures, with our football and hockey teams showing great teamwork, determination and sporting spirit.

On Tuesday, our U8/U9 mixed football team enjoyed three games against Bryanston and Sherborne Prep, recording a win, a draw and a loss. Effie was a standout performer, scoring a brilliant hat-trick, including a goal with her weaker foot, while Tamsin made two courageous saves in goal.

On Wednesday, our boys’ football teams faced strong opposition from Port Regis. There were some excellent individual performances, including several fine saves from Toby, while Antonio worked tirelessly in both attack and defence. Arthur led by example with his attitude and work rate, and Oliver showed great courage by taking on the challenge of playing in goal.

Our girls’ hockey teams also competed against Port Regis. Despite some tough results, there were plenty of highlights, with Diana impressing in defence, Allegra making multiple saves in goal, and Esme contributing excellent play and some great goals. Amelia showed fierce defensive play and strong shooting, while Thea confidently scored her first goal of the season.

Well done to all our players for their commitment, courage and positive attitude throughout the fixtures!

Senior Girls

Our newly formed Sixth Form netball squad enjoyed the tournament experience in the U19 North Dorset Tournament this week; with some closely fought matches; we had 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 losses. Our U14s are in action next week!
