Senior Girls Sport: Hockey

It has been a really positive start to the term for girls’ sport, with our teams embracing every opportunity to compete, develop and enjoy their hockey.

Our hockey teams have played some highly competitive fixtures against Canford, Leweston and Gillingham, with some very encouraging results along the way. The girls have shown great determination, teamwork and a positive attitude, continuing to build confidence and improve with every game.

Our U16s also had a great experience at the U16 North Dorset Competition, where they thoroughly enjoyed the tournament style match play.

There is plenty to be positive about as we look ahead to the rest of the term, and we look forward to seeing our girls continue to develop, compete and represent the school with such enthusiasm and pride. Well done to everyone involved!

Senior Boys Sport

It has been another busy and positive week of sport at Clayesmore, with pupils across a range of teams enjoying competitive fixtures and valuable opportunities to develop their skills.

Football made an excellent start to their league campaign against Wells, opening their account with a well-earned victory. It was an encouraging first league fixture and provided a strong platform for the season ahead, with the players showing good teamwork, commitment and an eagerness to compete.

Rugby enjoyed a competitive block of games against Bryanston. Across the teams, there were some good contests, with pupils showing determination and a willingness to learn and improve. The fixtures provided valuable experience for players at all levels and highlighted the continued development of the rugby programme.

Squash also enjoyed a successful week, securing a good win against Monkton Combe before facing a strong Canford side in a closely contested match. The players competed with enthusiasm and demonstrated good sportsmanship throughout.

Overall, it has been a very encouraging week of sport, with pupils continuing to embrace the opportunities available to them, represent the school with pride and develop both individually and as teams.
