The move into Sixth Form marks an important step towards independence, greater responsibility and the freedom to make choices about the future. At Clayesmore, we recognise that every student is different, with their own ambitions, interests and aspirations. We do not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach; instead, we provide the guidance, opportunities and flexibility for each young person to shape a pathway that is right for them.
With a broad choice of A Level and BTEC courses, alongside the opportunity to complete an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), students can create a programme of study that reflects their strengths and future goals. Whether their interests lie in science and mathematics, the creative arts, sport, business, technology or a combination of disciplines, our aim is to help every student pursue subjects they enjoy and excel in.

Small class sizes and a supportive learning environment ensure that every student is known, valued and encouraged to achieve their potential. Sixth Form students are treated as young adults, developing independence and confidence while benefiting from expert teaching, dedicated tutors and a strong pastoral network. Our experienced Sixth Form team, alongside our specialist Careers guidance, supports students in making informed decisions about their next steps, whether that is university, an apprenticeship, a sponsored degree or employment.
Beyond academic study, Clayesmore Sixth Form offers exceptional opportunities to broaden horizons and develop the skills needed for the future. Through our distinctive LEX Programme, along with Young Enterprise, Model United Nations, debating, careers workshops and other enrichment opportunities, students develop confidence, leadership, teamwork, communication and critical thinking skills.
Students are encouraged to make the most of everything Sixth Form life has to offer. From leadership roles within the school community and supporting younger pupils, to social events, formal occasions and shared experiences with friends, Sixth Form is a time to grow, explore and discover new passions.
With outstanding facilities, including our Design Technology Centre, Business School, Cookery School, Art Department and Sports Centre with a state-of-the-art gym, spin room and swimming pool, students have the space and resources to pursue their interests, develop their talents and make the most of every opportunity.
