Year 9 artists discover Rashid Johnson

Head of Art, Mrs Kirsty Mareau-Jones writes:

“Year 9 students who have chosen to study Art GCSE participated in a Gallery Trip to Hauser and Wirth in Bruton last Friday. They discovered the multi-faceted work of Rashid Johnson, an American artist who completed a residency in Bruton. The exhibition entitled ‘Stranger’ explored identity, culture and memory. Our Year 9 students participated in a guided tour and workshops which were devised and delivered by the education staff at Hauser and Wirth. It was an excellent first outing with our new GCSE cohort, who participated in tasks and discussions in a mature and focused way.”
