Year 11 Gallery Trip to the National Museum Cardiff

Head of Art, Mrs Mareau-Jones elaborates on the experiences Y11 encountered on their recent Art trip:

On November the 14, our Year 11 students participated in a gallery trip to the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff. They discovered the extraordinarily diverse resident art collections, as well as the current ‘Bacon to Doig’ exhibition. We were also fortunate to see the ‘Swaps’collection of photographs from the David Hurn collection.

After some independent research, our Year 11 students participated in a guided discussion delivered by the education staff at the Museum. They then further developed contextual links for their projects by sketching and photographing appropriate work. It was a very informative trip and we are sure that it opened up new lines of enquiry for our year 11 Artists.
