Uniforms for Uniforms: Clayesmore Fundraising for the NHS
CLAYESMORE SCHOOL CALLS ALL UK SCHOOL CHILDREN TO JOIN A
‘UNIFORM FOR UNIFORMS’ DAY FOR THE NHS
With all schools closed in the UK, on Friday 1 May the children of Clayesmore School will unite from their homes by wearing their school uniform to show their gratitude to our frontline workers in uniform, in a ‘reverse mufti fundraising day’.
“We want to encourage every school, and every pupil, of every year group up and down the country to join our #uniformsforuniforms campaign and wear their school uniform on Friday 1st of May to show our appreciation for NHS staff and key workers in uniform,” explained Head, Mrs Jo Thomson.
“We’ve seen wonderful national moments of thanks with Clap for Carers – and the astonishing efforts of Captain Tom – but this is for the children of Britain to show their thanks and raise some much needed funds for the NHS.
“The current situation has been incredibly hard on children of all ages, and for some, has been a very worrying and lonely time. We want to remind them that they are not alone, and how proud Britain is that they have been able to adapt in order to keep learning from home. This is a moment for them to realise how important their efforts are to the national fight against Covid 19 and stand proudly together with school children everywhere,” she said.
GETTING INVOLVED IS SO EASY
Everyone will be familiar with the obligatory ‘back to school’ photos that parents post on social media of their children proudly posing in their uniforms. We want to recreate this on Friday 1st May with parents posting pictures of their children in uniforms on instagram tagging #uniformsforuniforms. Our goal is to create a virtual school photo from these posts, in order to record this monumental time in their lives. Something they can show with their grandchildren in years to come.
We invite families to donate £1 as you would on a school mufti day. The donation is
totally optional and would be per household, not per child so just £1. Money raised will go to the NHS Charities Together – Covid 19 Urgent Appeal.
