The Amazing Acting of Clayesmore Prep Junior Years

Superstan on stage

Mrs Isabel Rose, Clayesmore Prep’s Junior Years Co-ordinator and Head of History, writes:

“This year’s junior production, The Amazing Adventures of Superstan, was the story of Stanley Marvel who, along with his alter ego, Superstan, defeats the evil Candy King who is attempting to control the city of Megaville and its citizens. Years 3, 4 and 5 particularly enjoyed this comic book caper which had many good jokes, excellent songs and wonderful props. It was a fast moving and extremely entertaining show, with a great many songs written by Craig Hawes who specialises in productions for children of this age.

“The Year 3 pupils made a wonderful set of Minions and the Year 4 pupils were citizens or mad marines. Year 5 pupils took the main parts as usual – special mentions go to Misha as the Candy King, Daisy as Stanley, George as Superstan, Hester as Gran and Emily as DC. The two evil sidekicks – Curly (Edward R) and Wurly (Percy) were also very good in their roles. This was an excellent production and the junior drama team would like to extend their thanks to all involved.”

Head of Prep, Mr Dunlop, who could not contain his laughter throughout the two performances, said proudly: “Every child performed with flair and courage, indeed I think they were all superheroes. Their enthusiasm was infectious.”
