Taking the pressure off Year 11 Mocks
At Clayesmore, staff are conscious that exam periods can be a heavy weight on students’ shoulders, so during the recent Year 11 mocks, exam co-ordinator, Miss Rhead was keen to ensure that pupils were given opportunities to relax and enjoy something different in their free time. Miss Rhead explains:
“Most students have had two exams sittings a day but in the slot between break and lunch some weird and wonderful activities have been arranged by the staff who would normally be teaching them.
These have included an impromptu floats session in the pool, a gentle jog, a spot of yoga, biscuit making, circuits, football skills and drills, netball for both girls and boys, 5-a-side football, problem solving in a wood and mindfulness. There were also options of quiet and silent revision venues.”
