PopFest 2018 provided the perfect occasion to showcase the extraordinary musical talents of our Year 8 children on the last Friday of term. This pupil-directed event involved nearly every member of Year 8 and featured a record breaking 21 musical performances, both original pieces composed by the pupils and popular covers.

Clayesmore Prep boarding pupils did not let the snow get in the way of their school day on Thursday 1 March. Not content with merely playing with the white stuff, the children created a play about it in just one day.

Tuesday saw the much-anticipated return of Gillian Cross to work with Year 5. The children had developed their shrinking characters further and were eager for Gillian to help them bring them to life. This session focussed on writing apt dialogue to capture characters placed in an extreme situation. Then, taking on the mantle of a specific character from their script, they learned the dialogue in record time, rehearsed and performed the script creatively and with great confidence.
