Careers Support

We have been giving advice to students for many years and have built up our careers department to offer an exceptional array of opportunities for them to make educated choices for their next steps.

A number of events take place at Clayesmore throughout the year. Our Back to the Future Day gives members of the Lower Sixth the opportunity to meet and listen to Old Clayesmorians of a variety of vintages, sharing the advice they would give their 17-year-old selves, had they the chance. They are chosen for having taken vastly differing routes and the aim is to give the Year 12s an insight into the realities of life, post-School, and the possibilities on offer.

Then there are open days and taster courses and workshops on subjects from University abroad to apprenticeships and employability skills. There’s a lot going on and ensuring we never lose sight of the individual is paramount to our approach because we know, and practice, that one size does not fit all.

The department is headed by Mrs Catherine Jacks and you can contact her at cjacks@clayesmore.com to see what opportunities there are at Clayesmore for your child to be guided in the right direction for them.

Professional Events

We will soon be hosting a London-based event for those involved in the property industry.  Date and venue are to be confirmed but if you are interested in attending, please contact our Development Manager, Sarah Kerr, at skerr@clayesmore.com. It is primarily aimed at OCs but all interested members of the Clayesmore family are most welcome.

Get involved

Are you willing to mentor, provide work experience for or just have an informal chat with a pupil or young OC? We would love to hear from you. Getting on the career ladder or making choices about which course or university to sign up to can be a daunting prospect and your input and encouragement could have a really positive impact at what can be a confusing time for a young person.

By sharing your experiences, good and bad, and the natural highs and lows of study and work, you could arm a student with knowledge they simply cannot get from university publicity material or officially-sanctioned employee satisfaction surveys!

Get in touch with Sarah Kerr at skerr@clayesmore.com or telephone 01747 813177.
