Last weekend was a busy one at Clayesmore. Friday saw the annual OC Induction evening for the Upper Sixth, with wine tasting and pizza, expertly led by Mr Chris Middle and Mr Frank Thomson, of the School. Chair of the OC Society, Louise Salmond Smith, was also on hand to officially welcome the students into the Society and each was given a goody bag containing celebratory cufflinks or bracelet, an OC magazine and their Clayesmore Society membership cards.
Saturday was Choral Day, which proved as enjoyable for all involved as it always does. The Choir, having worked together all day, sang a delightful programme at the evening concert, the highlight of which was Fauré’s Requiem, which was followed by a delicious Summer Supper in the Main House.
On Sunday, it was the turn of the OC cricket team, the Cormorants, to meet the School in their annual stand-off. A superb match was played on what proved a perfect late spring day, with the final victors being the School who secured their win with a massive six from the last ball of the match! Final score 207-9 against the OCs’ 201 all out.
Well done, all!
