Clayesmore has a 25m x 9m deck top pool, from 1m depth in the shallowest part to 2m deep. The temperature ranges from 28 ̊c to 29 ̊c, which accommodates most activities currently running in the Centre. To assist with access in to pool we have inclined access steps along with poolside hand bars to aid mobility.
The pool is used for predominantly for School use with access for public swimming, kayaking and swimming lessons, Clayesmore Swimming Club and Aqua Fit Water Aerobics.
Learn to Swim Programme
The Clayesmore Sport Centre Swimming Programme’s philosophy is to provide a motivating environment to help develop and realise each swimmer’s potential, whether young or old.
Our programme aims to provide a safe environment in which each individual’s goals can be fulfilled, and to provide a situation where every participant can develop their swimming and glean many years of enjoyment. The Clayesmore Swimming Programme caters for swimmers of all ages and abilities. So, whether you are a parent wanting to introduce your child to the water for the first time, or ensuring your child learns important life saving skills, or an adult wanting to learn to swim and/or improve technique and fitness, there will be something for you.
All our staff are qualified and registered with the Swim England and the Institute of swimming (IOS). We take great pride on constantly updating our knowledge by attend regular training seminars that help guarantee the quality of teaching in lessons to the highest possible standard.
Children’s Group Swimming Lessons: School-age Children, aged 4 ½ + ( During Clayesmore School Term)
Lessons are structured to follow the Swim England National Plan for Swimming. The scheme has been designed to provide a template for learn-to swim programmes and create consistency throughout the Country with regards to the provision of swimming.
The Lesson Group size is kept to a minimum to ensure a high standard of teaching and increase teacher-pupil contact. There will be a maximum of 12 children in each lesson. Children must be at least 4 ½ years of age. A lesson lasts 30 minutes and are paid in advance for the term.

Clayesmore Swim Club
Clayesmore Swimming Club is a friendly club based at Clayesmore Sports Centre, catering for swimmers aged 8-18 years. The club is registered with Swim England.
