NEW DATE: The 2020 Clayesmore Lecture
Join us for the 2020 Clayesmore Lecture with our special guest speaker, Baroness Eliza Manningham-Buller, former head of MI5, Chair of the Wellcome Trust and cross bench peer for the Science and Technology committee.
Baroness Manningham-Buller headed Britain's Security Service, MI5, from 2002 to 2007, leading the organisation through substantial change in the wake of 9/11 and the threat from Al-Qaeda. Earlier in her career, she led the investigation into the Lockerbie bombing and served in Washington during the first Gulf war, after which she established MI5's intelligence effort against the Provisional IRA in mainland Britain. She has also authored the book 'Securing Freedom', based on her memorable BBC Reith Lecture.
This year's Clayesmore Lecture promises to be an interesting and thought-provoking journey into the topic of successful and effective leadership as well as a tantalising insight into the world of security and spies. Please join us for this wonderful event, after which there will be a drinks reception in the Main House.
