Pro-Corda National Finals accolade for Clayesmore Chamber Music Group

We are delighted to announce that our Prep School Chamber Music Group were highly commended for their performance of Tico Tico, described as “wonderful…joyful…full of energy and enthusiasm”, in the finals of the Pro Corda Chamber Music Festival 2018 at The Perse School, Cambridge last week. They were also this year’s winners of the “Founder’s Trophy.” This is awarded to one outstanding ensemble across all the age categories who, based on assessment of internal marks across the semi-finals and adjudicator comments, not least as to how well the group conducted themselves during coaching within their semi-final round, have met all these criteria.

They will receive a masterclass from Andrew Quartermain, CEO of Pro Corda at school next term, together with a presentation of the trophy in a special assembly. Writing to the school, Andrew said “they impressed me greatly in both performances. Just stunning”.

Pro Corda is one of Europe’s leading music organisations and it operates the International Chamber Music Academy for young musicians.
