Kate cookes up a storm at South West Chef competition

 
Year 10 student, Kate, enjoyed a great afternoon at the Dorset round of South West Chef competition recently.
 
Head of the Cookery School at Clayesmore, Mrs Kathryn Gallagher, commented, “Kate did an amazing job, creating a Chicken and Bacon Pie with Rough Puff Pastry (which she made) and Veg, all in 90 minutes. 
 
“Her feedback from one of the Poole and Bournemouth Chef lecturers, a Chef at Rick Stein, Poole, and a Michelin star Chef from Essential Cuisine was: the chicken was cooked perfectly and that some more sauce in the pie would have improved it. They were also very impressed with her pastry and her clean working method/station.
 
“I am very proud of how well she represented Clayesmore, smiling and polite throughout.”
 
The competition is now in its 15th year, and recognises the extraordinary talent among the professional chefs, student chefs, home cooks and junior cooks of the South West of England.
 
Well done, Kate, a culinary star in the making.
