A host of Personal Bests for Clayesmore Prep swimmers at IAPS Regional Gala

On Tuesday 27 February, Clayesmore Prep School hosted one of the many IAPS Regional Galas being held over the county between January and March.

175 pupils in Years 5 to 8 from prep schools in Dorset and Wiltshire competed at the Clayesmore Gala. The competition is a qualifying round leading to the National Finals which will be held at the London Aquatics Centre on Saturday 9 June 2018.

Clayesmore entered a strong team and recorded 16 Personal Best times overall (9 for Years 5 & 6 and 7 for Years 7 & 8). Outstanding swims came from:

After all the Regional galas have taken place, the IAPS organisers rank the times submitted by Regional event hosts. The top 16 Individuals and top 12 relay teams are then selected to compete at the National Finals. We expect to hear the news regarding qualifiers during the Easter holidays or start of the Summer term. Fingers crossed for Team Clayesmore.
