A long overdue arrival has appeared in the hall of the Main House, gracing the wall outside the de Selincourt Room. We have a new “Head Board”, so to speak. A roll of honour, commissioned by the School and made by local cabinet maker, Roy Smith, out of oak, it is a list of Heads and Wardens since the inception of Clayesmore in 1896.
Starting with founder, Lex Devine and taking us to the present day with Mrs Thomson, this kind gift of the Old Clayesmorian Society is a really beautiful piece of work and a wonderful, visual reflection of our history.
Do stop to have a look at it next time you’re passing: it’s a wonderful reminder of our past and how far we’ve come.
