GCH, an OC, goes from SOAS to DC!

After Clayesmore, Augustus (Gus) Casely-Hayford (1978 – 1980) went to the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, where he was awarded a Doctorate and, later, an Honorary Fellowship.

His career so far has been an amazing whirlwind of broadcasting, curating, researching and holding numerous very high profile positions in the global art world. And now, as proclaimed by The New York Times and The Washington Post, he has just taken up the role of Director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington DC.

Proud congratulations from all of us at Clayesmore on this spectacular achievement.
