Jess & Jemima riding high

Congratulations to Year 10 pupil, Jess, and her horse, Murphy Mayhill, who led from the start to come first in the BE100u18 SectionR class at Bicton International Horse Trials this weekend. The dynamic duo also scooped the prize for best dressage (with a score of 28.3).

Jess’s second ride, Irish Aftershock, also performed excellently, finishing 12th and just out of the placings in a tightly contested section.

Meanwhile, Year 9 pupil, Jemima, kept herself busy in the Easter holidays, competing with her horse, Diamond Buttons in a number of events, including the NSEA county dressage championships.

Performing novice test 34 in the pop up dressage class, Jemima qualified for the championships over the winter, accumulating points in tests from November to February. On the day Jemima and Diamond Buttons achieved an amazing score of 71.79, coming fourth over all. Jemima’s mother comments, “Buttons had gone down the centre line like a nodding donkey, then suddenly put on her dancing shoes, flicked out her toes and was a true princess.”

Well done to both.
