End of Term Information for Parents of Students in Year 12

Over the last few weeks the Year 12s have had an extraordinarily productive time with their LEAP activities organised by Mrs SarahJane Newland and Mr Will Gibbs, and involving almost all the teaching staff in some way or other. It has been great to see them doing leadership tasks, preparing for UCAS, pursuing their A Level and BTEC subjects with fervour and even visiting The Cricketers in Shroton.

We very much hope to see you at the art exhibition or Hampers or Champers or Speech Day.

There are important details below for Year 12 students.

All Year 12 students should be at school all day on Thursday, and should attend the House Line at 4.30pm.

Students expecting to attend the Ball MUST attend the meeting at 4.45pm in the Chapel. It has been clearly explained to the students that anyone who misses this meeting, without prior arrangement, may not be permitted to attend the Ball.

Day pupils are welcome to join the boarders for House Arrangements from 6.45pm – 9pm if that suits you, but many understandably travel home at 5.25pm in the normal way.

Thursday evening always works best if it is innocently enjoyed! Please understand that if any pupil brings any alcohol to the event or has consumed it before arriving you will need to come to collect them, and the normal disciplinary sanctions will apply. Regrettably but inevitably at this stage of term this will include not being permitted to attend Speech Day on Friday.

On Friday, Speech Day, prize-winners must be at school by 9am and choristers by 10am.

Leavers and their parents are very welcome to attend the Leavers’ Service at 11.30am in the Chapel.

All other Year 12 day pupils should arrive by 1.45pm for the speeches.

The Head has written separately to parents of students attending the Ball.
