End of Term Information for Parents of Students in Year 11

In addition to the main events

All boarders should be back in school by 4.30pm on Thursday.

THURSDAY EVENING

All Year 11 pupils, boarding and day, who wish to attend House Arrangements on Thursday evening must be in school by 4.30pm and attend House Line. Anyone who does not attend this House Line, unless they have made a prior arrangement with me or Mrs Bailey, will not be permitted to attend House Arrangements.

House Arrangements start at 6.45pm and end for day pupils at 9pm, and the evening always works best if it is innocently enjoyed!

Please understand that if any pupil returns to school with alcohol or visibly having had alcohol at home or elsewhere during the afternoon you will need to come to collect them, and the normal disciplinary sanctions will apply. Regrettably but inevitably at this stage of term this will include not being permitted to attend Speech Day on Friday.

If your son or daughter is currently at home on study leave please could you explain this to him or her. We really don’t want any of them to get into trouble at this stage of the year.

FRIDAY

On Friday, Speech Day, prize-winners must be at school by 9am and choristers by 10am.

Leavers and their parents are very welcome to attend the Leavers’ Service at 11.30am in the Chapel.

All other Year 11 day pupils should arrive by 1.45pm for the speeches.

GCSE EXAM RESULTS – 23 August – a note

GCSE results will be emailed to students at their @clayesmore.com email address at about 8am on the morning of Thursday 23 August.

All students are welcome to visit the school from 9.30am where they can collect the paperwork associated with results. There will be a team of staff on hand to help with advice if things have gone better or worse than expected.

Students who want to make changes to their subject choices will be able to talk this through on Saturday 1 September. Minor changes can generally be arranged by emailing Dr Thomason, but more significant changes are best discussed in person. The best time to do this would be at about 1.15 on Saturday 1 September, where they and you will be able to meet Heads of Department and the Year  12 tutors to talk things through.
