Elevating pupil performance

Year 12 pupils have benefitted from a series of study skills workshops, provided by Elevate Education, a company which benchmarks the habits of the country’s top students and runs workshops which introduce students to these attitudes and skills and show them how to adopt them. The workshops covered time management including completing non-required tasks to maximise exam performance and and using study groups to share tasks and free up time. A second session focussed on the fundamental elements for success and introduced students to a range of skills that will allow them to motivate themselves throughout the year. The seminar covered the role of belief in success, the importance of goal-setting in sustaining motivation, and how work to break work down into small, short term, specific tasks. The over-riding message of the workshops was that success in study isn’t about being bright, it’s about working on the right things in the right way and with the right mindset.
