Easter cycling success for Year 11 pupil Nathaniel
Clayesmore’s cycling star, Nathaniel, took advantage of the Easter break to compete in cycling races, taking victory in a British Cycling arranged event at Castle Coombe.
A pupil in Year 11, Nathaniel spent part of the holiday in Scotland, a member of a team of 4 male and 4 female riders representing the South region in a three day event. Day 1 saw the riders compete in appalling conditions on a hilly course, Day 2 consisted of a team trial in the morning and a race in the afternoon and Day 3 was a hilly course.
Disappointment in Scotland following a shove from another rider which saw Nathaniel end up on the grass was relieved on Good Friday, when Nathaniel travelled to the Castle Combe circuit in Wiltshire, crossing the line first in a regional race for U16 Boys in the “Easter Classic” competition out of a total field of 57 riders. Well done, Nathaniel.
