Dazzling the audience with Biological Aspects of Fluorine

Clayesmore’s Head of Chemistry, Dr Gammon, writes about a recent Sixth Form Chemistry Symposium held at Sherborne Girls:

“Monday evening was a great success with Olivia C and Olivia T presenting on ‘Biological Aspects of Fluorine’. These range from Fluoride in toothpaste (to avoid decay) to novel fluids that can be ‘breathed’ to give oxygen to the body and used as a potential replacement for blood in transfusions. The Lower Sixth Formers spoke eloquently and answered some thought-provoking questions from the audience.”
