Cricketer Top 100 Magazine kudos for Clayesmore’s cricketers

Cricket, Clayesmore

Clayesmore’s commitment to developing cricket was, once again, acknowledged by The Cricketer Magazine who have included it in their “Playing Fields of England, an A-Z guide to the summer game’s top 100 Schools 2018”. This is the third year in a row that Clayesmore has been included in the prestigious guide, and is a great accolade.

It may be winter now, but Clayesmore’s cricketers (both boys and girls) are taking the opportunity to hone their skills and ensure they are fully prepared for the start of the season. The Senior School squads have been testing their techniques out in match play settings, with specialist coaching from Clayesmore’s Head of Boys’ Games Mr Dan Conway (Yorkshire CCC and Herefordshire CCC), Mr Julian Shackleton (Gloucestershire CCC and Dorset CCC), Mr Oliver Horner (Dorset Youth Team Coach) and Miss Laura Thomas (Dorset CCC).

Following the U13 Team’s victory in the county championships last summer, Clayesmore Prep School have launched a new cricket training programme, which incorporates two levels of winter training. An Elite Performance Group (EPG) now trains with senior school pupils under the guidance of Mr Conway and Mr Shackleton. The second level Cricket Performance Group (CPG) comprises boys and girls who will be coached by qualified coaches Mr Manley and Mr Horner.
