The Dorset Schools Cross Country results are in, and Clayesmore did extremely well:
We are confirmed the Senior Boys Team County Champions for the fourth year in a row, and Year 9 runner Josh S added the Junior Boys Dorset Schools title to the Dorset Clubs title he won back in December.

Other results:
Intermediate Girls: Amy M (Y11) 4th
Senior Boys: Alex D (Y12) 5th, Angus C (Y12) 10th, Ed D (Y13) 13th, and Fred C (Y12) 14th
Intermediate Boys: Conor G (Y11) 8th, and Russel Y (Y10) 16th
Senior Girls: Elsa C (Y12) 9th

Josh, Amy, Alex, Angus, Ed, Conor and Elsa now move on to represent Dorset at the South West Schools Cross Country Championships to be held at Newton Abbot on Saturday 3 February. Fred is Senior Boys reserves, and Russel Intermediate Boys reserve.

Ten runners from each county are selected to run in the South West regional championships, and the top eight will be selected from this race to represent their county at the English Schools National Championships in March.

In addition, the Intermediate Boys team were 3rd and Junior Boys 4th. Clayesmore had representative teams in all age groups except Senior Girls. The Intermediate Girls team came 5th and Junior Girls team 10th.

Sporting Events Manager, Mr Chris Humpage, describes our runners’ achievements:

“The individual results of our runners, together with the senior boys’ fourth consecutive team victory, and the largest number of county selections for the South West Schools by any school in Dorset, are tremendous achievements of which we are very proud. We are also very proud, though, of our other runners, who may not have been selected for the next stage, but who supported the team cause with good spirit and go away with county competition experience behind them. Well done to all who competed, good luck to those already selected for South West Schools, and fingers crossed for the other three pupils on the reserves list.”
