Clayesmore cryptographers are confidently cracking codes again
Chapter 2 – 22 January
Well done to Abi J, Alfred C and William C, all in Year 10, for cracking this week’s code, which was a mystery around Pascal’s Triangle. It didn’t take them very long at all. The Clayesmore team ‘i’ moved up 93 places to 226th, and is still joint top of the leader board having achieved full marks in both rounds.
The story continues next week, with Chapter 3 being released on Monday 29 January.
Chapter 1 – 15 January
The Alan Turing Cryptography Competition 2018 has begun. The first chapter was released yesterday, and the Clayesmore team is joint top of the leader board with full marks! (Rather puzzlingly showing as 319th, as 360 teams out of 576 that completed the first round are in joint first place at this stage of the challenge.)
Well done to Abi J (Y10) and the rest of team ‘i’.
The Alan Turing Cryptography Competition is organised by the School of Mathematics at the University of Manchester, and consists of six chapters released from 15 January to 12 March 2018. Participating teams gain points by cracking the code in each chapter of the story that forms the competition. You can find more information here.
