Clayesmore at Chalke Valley
The highly prestigious Chalke Valley History Festival was held last week at nearby Broadchalke and Clayesmore played its part for the third year running; this time sponsoring an activity tent for children.
We are honoured to have a continuing relationship with the festival, which attracts some of the biggest names in history-based writing, publishing and television presenting.
There was also a vast number of bold volunteers, storming about dressed as Vikings, Saxons and so on, and visitors mingled with WW2 pilots, Napoleonic soldiers and sunbathing knights overheating in suits of armour. And all with a Hurricane circling overhead!
It’s an exceptional event; if you haven’t been, do go next year. We aim to be there.
