Clayesmore CCF Biennial Inspection on Land and Wave
Contingent Commander, Major Emma Dorey, writes about this action-packed day:
“Clayesmore Combined Cadet Force (CCF) took 115 cadets away on an adventure training day for their Biennial Inspection. The cadets rotated through a series of stands which included surfing (the sea was very cold), jumbo paddle boarding, rock climbing and archery.
“The Inspecting Officer, Lt Col David Goodacre AAC enjoyed the slightly unusual format of the day and got involved in both the water and land based activities. He was hosted by the Contingent Commander, Major Emma Dorey, as well as the staff of Clayesmore CCF, who were also joined by members of the Cadet Training Team and HQ South West Brigade. Senior Cadet Ed (Y13) introduced Colonel Goodacre to cadets from across Years 10 to 13, many of whom were experiencing their first Inspection.
“All cadets embraced the spirit of the day and demonstrated the morale, camaraderie and ethos that makes the Combined Cadet Force such a unique organisation. The smile on their faces was evidence that they would remember the day for a long time.”
