“Fair is foul, and foul is fair” in Clayesmore’s production of Macbeth

Clayesmore’s ‘Macbeth’ was a truly a slick and entertaining production. The student design team had created a bold, monochromatic set and this cold, totalitarian aesthetic was emphasized by the lighting, sound, make-up and costume teams. Though reimagined for the 20th Century, it was highly effective in making Shakespeare relevant to all.

Tuning up the Christmas spirit with carol singing at Waitrose

Last Saturday members of the Clayesmore choir, made up of Prep Year 8 and Senior School pupils, tuned up the Christmas spirit for Saturday shoppers at Waitrose in Gillingham, singing familiar carol songs from Away in a Manger and Ding Dong Merrily on High to Good King Wenceslas

Going Global at Clayesmore Model United Nations

Saturday 2 December saw the third edition of ClayesMUN, with 118 delegates from eight different schools. The topics debated were as diverse as ever, ranging from the Rohingya refugee crisis to oil exploration in the Arctic.

Musical feast in honour of St Cecilia

The St Cecilia Concert on 21 November was, once again, a demonstration of the remarkable musical talent at Clayesmore Senior School, and very possibly ‘the best one yet!’

Maths Challenge Success

Clayesmore’s Sixth Form mathematicians are celebrating success in the Senior Maths Challenge. This is an individual competition, run by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust, which is open to all students taking A-Level Maths in Years 12 and 13 in the UK.

The Field Mortar

At last weekend’s Remembrance services, the School recognised, as it always does, the sacrifices made by Old Clayesmorians in all wars. Central to this was the Field Mortar; a gift from the War Office to the School in 1919, in memory of the high proportion of OCs who gave their lives in WWI.
