Capturing the essence of place in Lulworth

Clayesmore Lower Sixth art students spent two days painting and drawing the Jurassic coast. Students were encouraged to capture ‘The essence of place’ through observing and recording, textures, shapes, lines and tonal qualities at Lulworth cove and Durdle Door.

Clayesmore’s biathletes excel at South West Schools Competition

A joint Prep and Senior team from Clayesmore competed at the South West Schools Biathlon on Sunday 15 October. Held at the University of Bath Sports Village, this was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to compete at outstanding facilities, swimming in a 50m 8 lane pool and running on an outdoor all weather athletics track.

County Success for Clayesmore Girls

Clayesmore’s U19 Netball Team are the North Dorset Champions for the fourth time, qualifying for the County Finals next month.
In girls’ Hockey the U14A squad reached the semi-finals of the County Hockey tournament, finishing runners-up in their pool.

Golfing Greats

The Old Clayesmorian/Clayesmore Society Golf Day was held this year at Remedy Oak, a qualifying course for The Open, tucked away in beautiful and ancient woodlands, with a super clubhouse and facilities.

Clayesmore Cadets on Exercise

We took 42 Year 10 cadets away on an overnight exercise, brilliantly led by five sixth formers, on Sunday and Monday. They all performed exceptionally.

A taste of the life scientific for GCSE scientists

A group of Year 11 pupils attended an exciting ‘Lesser-spotted Scientists’ day at the Maths and Technology department of Oxford University aimed at top GCSE students intending to study A-Levels in the area of Maths and Sciences.
