Tuning up the Christmas spirit with carol singing at Waitrose

Last Saturday members of the Clayesmore choir, made up of Prep Year 8 and Senior School pupils, tuned up the Christmas spirit for Saturday shoppers at Waitrose in Gillingham, singing familiar carol songs from Away in a Manger and Ding Dong Merrily on High to Good King Wenceslas

The Field Mortar

At last weekend’s Remembrance services, the School recognised, as it always does, the sacrifices made by Old Clayesmorians in all wars. Central to this was the Field Mortar; a gift from the War Office to the School in 1919, in memory of the high proportion of OCs who gave their lives in WWI.

A Winter’s Tale

Year 7 pupil and avid writer Jennifer was selected the overall winner for Dorset in Country Child magazine’s short story competition with her chilling story ‘Winter’. You can read her story here before it’s published in the Country Child Winter 2017 issue, out later this month.
