If you go down to the woods today…

Following last week’s evocative descriptive work, Year 7 pupils from Mrs Chinnock’s English group have been reimagining Rossetti’s ‘Goblin Market’. The children performed a joint improvisation outside in our Beech Walk, and then worked in small groups to capture the main protagonist’s fate as she succumbs to the goblin fruit.

Pro Corda Founder’s Trophy presented to Clayesmore Prep musicians

The CEO of Pro Corda, Andrew Quartermain, visited Clayesmore this week to present the prestigious ‘Founder’s Trophy’ to our Chamber Music Group. The quintet, under-12 National Chamber Music Champions in 2017, was awarded this special trophy after this year’s festival as the one outstanding ensemble across all age categories.

Clayesmore Prep goes out and about

A splendid night of Boogie Woogie

On 10 May, The Social was filled with the sounds of jazz, blues and boogie woogie in our annual tribute to this wonderful genre of music, with performances from the acclaimed boogie woogie pianist Julian Phillips and singer Izi Onslow, as well as Prep musicians from Years 2 to 8 and Sixth Form pianists.
