Behind the scenes at the Museum

Eminent Old Clayesmorian, Gus Casely-Hayford (1980), popped up on Radio 4’s “Stage Door” this morning as the subject of a half hour documentary. The programme covered his first year as Director of the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art in Washington DC, during which he encounters challenges created by political upheaval on top of those thrown up by his own ambitions for the Museum’s astonishing collection.

It’s fascinating stuff; give it a listen.
