Back to the Future Day

Last Saturday, we were visited by a small but eclectic group of OCs who came to give some wise words to our Lower Sixth.

Back to the Future Day, so called as it is all about what advice they would give their 17-year-old selves, given the benefit of hindsight, saw our Old Clayesmorians relaying their personal stories of life after leaving school.

Some had enjoyed University success, others had becoming frustrated with academia and had changed course towards business or apprenticeships; some had found their niche early on while others took more time.

They were hugely entertaining, talking with great wit and also with compassion towards the students and there were some excellent and thought-provoking words for the Sixth Formers to consider.

After Q&As, the students had the chance to talk in more depth to the OCs about their individual occupations and everything from slick property brochures for multi-million pound houses to bits of spacecraft were brought out for them to discuss.

The day also brought about a mini reunion for those visiting, with an impromptu catch up in the Staff Room, seeing teachers and House staff gasping at how their former protégés had grown!

The OCs who took part were:
