Art at the Ashmolean

Head of Art, Mrs Mareau-Jones writes:

“Last Friday Year 11 artists travelled to the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford to research artefacts and objects that link to their current coursework projects. They were given the opportunity to explore the museum and to select and research appropriate objects. Some students have taken an interest in architecture and spaces, and the contemporary extension of the Ashmolean provided an ideal setting to explore this. This was followed by observational drawing within the Galleries. It was a very successful and productive trip and the students were great ambassadors for Clayesmore. The work completed will be used in their final coursework project.”
