A Lyrical Christmas
Now in its second year, the Clayesmore Carol Competition saw a host of eloquent and expressive entries. Either individually or collaboratively, pupils from Years 7, 8 and 9 composed thoughtful lyrics, many capturing the true meaning of Christmas. Several pupils had also produced tunes to accompany the words.
In the Prep section, there were a number of highly-commended entries, namely Lareina, Megan, Olivia K, Eleanor and Millie. Runners-up were Jenny, Georgie and Lara. The overall Prep winner was Charlotte with her beautifully poignant carol ‘Christus Dominus Noster’. Charlotte’s carol will be performed in the Junior Years’ Carol Service next month.
