Sixth Form Sixth Form Life Social life
Social life
Getting stuck into the demands of four AS-level courses and then three full A-levels is taxing and we encourage Sixth Form students at Clayesmore to use their study time between taught lessons and in the evenings wisely and efficiently. It is very important though that students have space and time in which to enjoy each others’ company and to unwind. All work and no play, and all that! The house is one focus for relaxation – study bedrooms are comfortable and can be made very homely, most of the houses have their own Sixth Form facilities but there is also the main Sixth Form common room with a pool table, music and television systems. However, we like to go above and beyond the bounds of normality and with staff and pupils working together we put on a range of different special events during the year. Good old discos play their part, themed supper parties, and then more major functions when we might all clamber into fancy dress to celebrate Trafalgar Night, or to enjoy an Edwardian evening together with everyone playing different roles, and then there is the Sixth Form Ball at the end of each academic year which is greatly looked forward. All of these things inspire a great spirit of strong friendship and cameraderie which we believe is uniquely Clayesmorian.
