South West Schools Athletics Success
Clayesmore athletes, Calvin Martin, Ella Henschel, Andy Smith and Will Bailey represented Dorset at the South West Schools Athletics Championships at Exeter Arena on Saturday. Will Bailey set a fantastic new personal best in the Intermediate Boys Triple Jump of 13.03m to become the South West Schools Champion with Ella Henschel also gaining a podium place for third position in the Junior Girls Long Jump. Andy Smith has another year in the Intermediate Boys 1500m and was not overawed competing against some athletes a year older and set a new personal best of 4.11.5 minutes to gain 5th place. Calvin Martin was down on his personal season best, but did well in his first major athletics competition to come 9th in the Junior Boys Shot.
