Cash of the Dinosaurs!

The Pre-Prep and Nursery played a full part in the Prep School's charity weekend recently with a novel way of raising cash. The children designed large and shiny dinosaurs made from the coins they had collected. £152 will go into the pot along with all the funds from various activities throughout the Prep School. Ugly bugs and snakes have invaded the classrooms at Clayesmore Pre-Prep this week courtesy of Jonathon Cleverly and his Jungle Roadshow. Nursery lessons in the grounds

Some nursery lessons have moved outside at Clayesmore this term, taking full advantage of the beautiful grounds. The school grounds staff have made several raised beds in which nursery pupils are growing strawberries and other vegetables. Time spent outdoors, exploring and having fun is a central part of all the activities on offer in the Pre-Prep and so the 'Narnia' like snow scenes that greeted them this week were even more exciting. Running around dressed head to toe in snow togs, the children had never seen snow like it and they made the most of it by building snow men and snow palaces!

The Reception Class at Clayesmore Prep has been spending lots of time outdoors this autumn, exploring the school grounds and making collections of seeds, berries, nuts, conkers and crab apples. Another trip in the week was to a local farm where the children fed the calves and took tractor and trailer rides around the farm yard.

The children in the Nursery have been really busy this term thinking hard about all the people whose job it is to 'help us'. Starting with self protrait paintings, the yougsters moved on to think about what fire fighters might look like and what it would be like to work as a doctor or nurse. Carnival Day at the Pre-Prep was tremendous fun this year with the children each dressing up as either rainbow fish, jungle creatures or exotic birds to bring spectacle and colour to the 'Big Top' ring in the Marquee.
