Year 7 enjoy their trip to France
Year 7 set off on their French/History trip on 18th June. Staying in a French educational centre near Arromanches is the perfect base from which to carry out the curriculum based tasks – as well as enjoying the beautiful beach opposite the hotel!
Three language tasks were set, looking at key aspects of French culture as well as buying a delicious picnic at the local market; each required some spoken French to complete the assignments. History based visits included the famous Bayeux Tapestry, Pegasus Museum exploring D-Day and the cemetery at Douvres la Délivrande, where a former Clayesmorian lies.
Children thoroughly enjoyed the trip, working enthusiastically and cooperatively to achieve their best. They also made the most of some free time on the beach and the disco on the final evening. Nicola Rowse commentedIt was a pleasure to take them and see them using their knowledge in a practical way.
